How to Merge CSV Files
Combine multiple CSV files into one clean file without manually copying and pasting rows between spreadsheets.
What does merging CSV files mean?
Merging CSV files means combining the rows from multiple files into a single CSV while keeping the same column structure.
For example, you might have separate monthly sales files for January, February and March. If they contain the same columns, they can be combined into one file containing all three months of data.
Before you merge your files
The current Love Data Tools merger expects each CSV to contain the same column headers in the same order.
Example
Customer ID, Name, Email, Country
If every file uses those same columns in that order, they can be merged directly.
How to merge CSV files
- 1. Open the Merge CSV tool
Open Love Data Tools and choose Merge CSV Files.
- 2. Select your CSV files
Select two or more CSV files from your device or drag them into the upload area.
- 3. Merge the files
Love Data Tools checks that the column headers match and combines the rows from the files.
- 4. Download the result
The merged file is downloaded as a new CSV file.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The Merge CSV tool processes your files locally in your browser. The contents of your CSV files are not uploaded to Love Data Tools for processing.
